The Re-do Guru's tale is truly an American Dream. He was born to a broken family in a rough part of town. His father abandoned the household to become a pirate, never contacting his common-law wife again. His mother was forced to work 9 jobs to raise him and his siblings. This employment required a lot of scrubbing, long walks in cold weather without a coat and sacrificing her own health for paltry Christmas gifts.

The Re-do GuruFrom this downtrodden life, The Re-do Guru fashioned an iron will and steadfast determination. He was a God-fearing Young American who trusted in the American Promise and his own true grit. He read by candlelight, educating himself in both the sciences and humanities. He starred at Little League, once performing an unassisted triple play. Became an Eagle Scout. Had a higher-than-average savings rate and perfect attendance.

Eventually, he found himself sorting mail. It was a respectable role at a company located in the middle of nowhere. His work was plodding, but he was quick at it. And left him plenty of time to think outside the box. The great intellectual landscape that most interested him had to do with fate, the inevitable and finding a way out of the mailroom. He pondered all three regularly, regaling his co-workers with thoughtful convolutions that would have made Kierkegaard proud. The numbskulls that surrounded him didn't seem to understand or encourage this sort of thinking. Still, he persisted. He thought he might be onto something.

Oops
Sad to say, as is often the case in backwater towns and know-nothing companies, creative thought is looked at askance. New perspectives are threatening. And too much talk about the inevitable will get you nowhere. So, one particularly gloomy afternoon as The Re-do Guru worked in his windowless mailroom, his boss waltzed in and said, "Get out." Stunned, he asked, "What?" And she said, "Go. You embarass us." So he left.

In the dark hours that followed, the Re-do Guru plunged into despair. His heart grew heavy. His natural optimism and undying hope faded. He was lost. Despondent. And feeling lousy.

Revelation
As is so often the case in the lives of geniuses, The Re-do Guru had a revelation. As The Lone Ranger, down and out, found help in Tonto, our hero found inspiration in a re-run of the Tonight Show, starring Johnny Carson. Sucking on his ninth beer of the evening, The Re-do Guru looked up into the far-off gaze the late-night comedian assumed and saw eternity.

Performing his Karnak the Magnificent skit, Johnny - in his divine, mystical and borderline wonderful way - discerned the answers to unasked questions. He uttered the thing that no one could know until the future. Karnak was a seer. A guide. An inspiration. He knew questions before they were asked. And he knew the answers, too. It was amazing.

For the Re-do Guru, Karnak's skills were an invitation to test the limits of time, forging links with the future that could benefit all mankind. He had found his calling.

The EncoreAgain solution available on this website came from that epiphany, that sublime moment with Johnny, his turban and a beer. Of course, the wonders offered here took many years of research and development, government grants, co-development agreements and thousands of failed experiments (we won't describe these: too grim). But the late-night, televised inspiration The Re-do Guru found in Karnak proved anything but trivial. In the hands of a maestro, even the tiniest idea can become nothing less than spectacular.
